Leafs Move Franchise into Dormancy

A message from AJH Executive Director and Former RMJHL President

Dear Leafs Fans/Supporters/Sponsors,

Although our 20U Leafs Junior team completes the USA Hockey amateur youth development pathway for boys, and when operated correctly would provide tremendous benefits to our members and community, due to insurmountable issues, I am disappointed to announce that AJH will not be fielding a team in 2017-18.  In the coming months, the Aspen Junior Hockey Board and I plan to throughly reevaluate the 20U program and its future in the Aspen community.  The Leafs RMJHL franchise will be placed into dormancy per league bylaws, and will have the option to return for the 2018-19 season without penalty.

We appreciate our fans, supporters and sponsors, and are sorry that we let you down.  We remain optimistic that we can rebuild a program that from its inception was intended to be the model organization in the RMJHL.  This begins with building trust throughout our community and organization, and operating a program that meets the standards established by the Aspen Junior Hockey Board of Directors.   We wish our RMJHL partners the best of luck this upcoming season.  For more information as reported by The Aspen Times visit:
